Ignify CXO Breakfast Event with the CIO of the Port of Long Beach

Are you looking to make some high-profile business contacts while learning crucial insights from one of the leaders of the Southern California business and technology communities? Be sure to join Ignify for the CXO Breakfast Event on May 8th, at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel.

The CXO Breakfast Series initiated by Ignify features prominent information and technology officers every quarter who share details on the solutions they have implemented for their companies, and the tangible benefits they have received from their decisions. Attendees at these events receive expert advice on what to avoid and what to do, which solutions are effective and which ones aren’t, and other key information from both business and technology standpoints.

One of the world’s premier seaports, the Port of Long Beach provides over 316,000 jobs in Southern California and 1.4 million jobs throughout the United States, and handles over $140 billion worth of products, natural resources, and provisions that traverse through the harbor annually. The Port of Long Beach also strives to be an active steward of the environment by directing programs that seek to reduce or eliminate negative environmental impacts.

With such a high volume of vessels and cargo to track, the business software previously responsible for helping the Port of Long Beach monitor their operations required the manual processing of shipping documents, vessel information, and billing, which created a massive amount of paperwork. This system not only slowed processing efficiency, it also made it difficult to get a clear view of management information for decision making.

Microsoft Dynamics AX proved to be the solution that fulfilled the critical IT requirements the Port sought, eliminating time-consuming practices and improving operational efficiency by automating the invoicing and accounts receivable processes; increasing oversight of revenue recognition and analytical reporting systems; enhancing productivity; and providing complete visibility of Port processes.

This event will be an excellent opportunity to hear specifically how the Port utilizes Microsoft Dynamics AX software, and the significant advantages provided by this system and the Port’s IT infrastructure provides business operations. You can also share your solution experiences with other IT and business executives, get feedback on any IT issues or questions that you may have, and exchange ideas on how to better position your business for success.

Microsoft Convergence has come and gone, and there are so many great memories of things seen and done – but a particularly special highlight of the trip so far was seeing Ignify customer Celluphone receiving recognition for their business accomplishments, as well as for their significant contributions to the Microsoft Dynamics community, from the Microsoft Convergence team. Celluphone, winner of the 2012 Microsoft Dynamics Champion Customer Excellence Award, was honored for their win at a special reception for the select few who earned Customer Excellence Awards.

The 2012 Customer Excellence Awards, which are presented in 9 categories, recognize and celebrate Microsoft Dynamics customers that have achieved notable accomplishments using their Microsoft Dynamics solutions. After an intensive assessment process of each category’s nominees, a team of Microsoft executive judges then reviewed and selected from the proposed winners for each category the final winner. Each year the awards are given at the Convergence conference.

Celluphone’s use of Microsoft Dynamics AX in managing the company’s financial, warehousing, and logistics operations has powerfully impacted the company, enabling the organization to increase its business, automate previously manual processes, and ultimately provide unparalleled customer support to its retailers. With a fully integrated, highly flexible business management system and built-in multi-company support, Celluphone had increased efficiency in its warehouse operations by 50 percent, achieved total operational growth of nearly 40 percent, and improved customer and dealer service.

Working with Ignify – winner of the Worldwide Microsoft Dynamics Partner of the Year Award in 2011 – since Celluphone went live on Microsoft Dynamics AX in 2008, Celluphone has developed and presented numerous materials on the use of Microsoft Dynamics AX, including the return on investment (ROI) and intangible benefits that the system has delivered to them.

Ignify is especially proud of our customer’s award, and glad to have leveraged our company’s technical, design, and functional expertise to assist our customer in developing and achieving a winning ERP transition.

Congratulations, Celluphone, on a truly well-deserved win!

These past few days have been a whirlwind of activity, and we’re glad to notch another Convergence experience onto our belt. We already are looking forward to next year, and we can’t wait to see you there!
